Young researchers school on analyzing extreme events distributions

Scope

The aim of the school is to provide a platform for young researchers who work or would like to work on the statistical modeling of extreme events. Short courses will be given by junior researchers.

One of the main objectives of this school is to create an international network for young researchers and to exchange innovative ideas coming from various fields dealing with extreme events (geosciences, insurances, impact studies, etc).

Speakers will also present data-model comparison and statistical tools used in climate modelling.

This school is part of the NICE research project (http://nice.ipsl.jussieu.fr/) that belongs to a Marie Curie Research Training Network and its main goal focuses on improving our understanding of past and future climate evolutions and their interactions with polar ice sheets over centennial and millennium scales.
