Important dates

The registration deadline is the 5th of April 2010

The workshop will take place from 5th of September 2010 to 8th of September 2010

The meeting starts on Sunday 5th in the evening with a dinner and ends on Wednesday 8th in the afternoon. The dinner on Sunday is a warm up event, no lectures will be given on Sunday.

There will be on Sunday (05.09.10) an optional little hiking excursion trough the beautiful landscape. It will start at 17h (meeting point at the reception, duration approx. 2h)

The workshop will finish on Wednesday 8th at 16h.

Accomodation

The Young researchers school on analyzing extreme events distributions will take place in the Centre Paul Langevin in Aussois in the French Alps mountains.

Getting there

It is up to the participants to get to the Centre Paul Langevin on Sunday! You can use the following information and get in touch with other participants you know if you want to share a taxi ride.

  • By plane: the nearest airports are Chambéry and Annecy.

  • By car:


    Once you are in Aussois, you can use following map (or the one available in the Aussois 2008/2009 winter brochure) to find the Centre Paul Langevin.



  • By bus: check the altibus web site...

  • By train: the nearest train station is Modane, 8km away from Aussois. You can then get to aussois with a bus or a taxi.

    Bus: check the altibus web site! Note: the departure times from the Modane bus station on Sunday 4th are 08h15, 09h45, 12h30 and 15h45. The bus travel time displayed on the altibus site is 30 minutes.

    Do not forget to book the taxi in advance if you need one and please specify that you will be attending the Young researchers school on analyzing extreme events distributions and are willing to share the ride with other participants!
